Agreement

By downloading or using SPEC, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What SPEC is

SPEC is a mobile app that helps interior designers estimate materials (such as drapery, shade, wallpaper, and upholstery yardage) and reference on-site checklists and design guidelines.

Estimates, not guarantees

This is the most important section of these Terms. Please read it carefully.

SPEC's calculators — including but not limited to the Drapery Calculator, Shade Calculator, Wallpaper Calculator, and Upholstery Estimator — produce estimates only. All output generated by SPEC is intended as a professional starting point and planning aid. It is not a guarantee of material quantity, cost, or suitability for any specific project.

Calculated estimates are based solely on the measurements and specifications you enter. SPEC cannot account for variables including but not limited to: workroom-specific requirements, fabrication tolerances, pattern matching allowances beyond what is entered, installation conditions, or supplier-specific yardage standards.

Before placing any fabric, material, or product order, you must independently verify all quantities with your workroom, fabricator, or supplier. Final yardage and material requirements should always be confirmed by a qualified workroom professional based on actual samples, confirmed measurements, and their specific production requirements.

By using SPEC, you acknowledge and agree that:

• All calculator outputs are estimates and approximations, not exact material requirements
• You are solely responsible for verifying quantities before ordering
• EJ Collective and the creators of SPEC are not liable for material shortages, overages, waste, additional costs, project delays, or any other damages resulting from reliance on SPEC's estimates
• SPEC is a professional aid intended to supplement — not replace — your professional judgment and your workroom's expertise

Your account and content

If SPEC allows you to save or sync project information, you're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping any login credentials secure.

Acceptable use

• Don't reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or its content
• Don't use SPEC in a way that disrupts the app for other users
• Don't misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us for support

Subscriptions

SPEC is currently free to download and use. If we introduce a paid subscription tier in the future, pricing, billing terms, and cancellation details will be presented to you before purchase and added here.

Intellectual property

SPEC, its logo, and its in-app content are owned by us. Using the app doesn't give you ownership of any part of it.

Disclaimer of warranties

SPEC is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of SPEC, including material or cost losses from estimate inaccuracies.

Changes

We may update these Terms as SPEC evolves. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
